Ikra by Derya Yazar Atasever
Cappadocia is home to the oldest and the most exceptıonal temples in history. People come here to look for their roots. Mosques and churches are worth seeing. The mosque in the photo reflects the mysticism in Cappadocia. This feeling gets even stronger as the sun goes down. In this old and ruined mosque, a young woman on her prayer rug is peacefully reading the Quran with a rosary in her hand. The title of the photograph “Ikra” means read, which is also from the root of the word Quran (the reading).
